Hillcress is part of News First Limited (England & Wales) and News First Sprl (Belgium). News First Limited and News First Sprl are committed to protecting your personal data and complying with data protection legislation.

We will not share your data with any other company or organisation except as specified below, and we will not transfer it outside of the EEA. We will do our utmost to protect your privacy through the use of security technology and conduct regular audits to ensure these measures remain effective. Your information is held on servers hosted by us or our Internet Service Providers. These servers are located within the United Kingdom.

The transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk.

Enquiries to our website

Where you send us personal data in the context of making an inquiry or asking for information, we will use the data you provide in order to respond to your question.

Personal data of potential customers gathered from other sources (eg meetings, telephone enquiries, etc) is processed as described in this policy.

Recruitment

We will collect data about you, both personal data (such as your name and contact details) and also special categories of data (such as some of the information which might be contained in your CV or covering letter). The personal data and special data will be stored, processed and used in these ways:

  • To assess data about you against the requirement for work which we judge may be suitable for you.

  • To enable you to submit your CV or apply online for jobs of interest to you.

  • To contact you about work for which you might be suitable.

  • To answer your questions and inquiries.

  • To use your information on an anonymised basis to monitor compliance with our equal opportunities policy.

 

We may share your data with a third party recruitment agency where we wish them to consider you with other candidates for a position they are recruiting for us. We may also gather data about you from your online profile on websites such as Linkedin where we believe that this publicly available information may help us to gain a more rounded view of your skills and abilities.

We will use reasonable endeavours to ensure that your personal data is kept up to date. However, it is your responsibility to inform us of any changes or additions to your information to ensure that it is up to date. Unless the law requires us to do otherwise, we will hold your information for six months from the date of your application to allow us to contact you if a suitable vacancy arises.

If you do not agree to our processing of your data in the ways set out in this policy, please do not submit any personal data to us. If you apply for work with us and/or send us your CV, we will process your personal data in the ways described in this policy.

Your Rights under Data Protection Legislation

News First Limited is the data controller. We ensure that the data you supply to us is processed fairly and lawfully, and with skill and care, and used only for the purposes set out in this policy.

If at any point you believe the information we process about you is incorrect, you can ask to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to what is being processed and/or how it is being processed, and to ask for it to be restricted. Please send all requests to question@hillcress.com.

If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you should contact question@hillcress.com. If you are not satisfied with our response or believe we are processing your personal data not in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

We reserve the right to transfer your information to a third party in the event of a sale, merger, liquidation, receivership or transfer of all or substantially all of the assets of our company provided that the third party agrees to adhere to the terms of this Privacy Policy and provided that the third party only uses your Personal Data for the purposes that you provided it to us. You will be notified in the event of any such transfer and you will be afforded an opportunity to opt-out.
